Jacques Thériault, founder and trained mechanic, works at Coop d’Amqui, dealer for Oliver and White tractors. He is the master mechanic of the company.

Acquisition of a garage with an associate, Thomas Couture, for the purpose of agricultural repair of any brand under the name Garage Thériault & Couture enr.

Dealership of Massey Ferguson tractors through the acquisition of the inventory of Massey Ferguson parts, tools and trucks from Garage Landry & Sénéchal located in Saint-Noël.

First expansion. 

1986

Massey Ferguson prize for the sale of 25 new tractors in three months. 

1992

Sale of shares of Jacques’ associate, Thomas Couture. The company will now be called Machinerie J.N.G. Thériault Inc. Jacques’ wife, Ginette Lavoie, a full-time practical nurse and responsible for the company’s accounting since the very beginning, in 1981, acquired 40% of the company’s shares. She will now work full time in this new family business.

Transfer of shares of Machinerie J.N.G. Thériault Inc. to the second generation: Lison, Nancy and Jimmy Thériault.

Construction of a second business location in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, under the name Grand Falls Tractor & Equipment, dealer for the Massey Ferguson and Fendt brands. Acquisition of parts and tools from Valley Sales & Service, located at the same location.
